I just want to say that I am aware that I did not finish the
previous post. I actually did before I saved the wrong post by accident and
deleted my very loooooooong post L
it was too much effort to write again so I will do It now.
After the night with the family we went on a boat trip to
the floating market. We seen the local people selling their goods, there was
mostly pineapple being sold, so I guess pineapple is in season haha. The local
people will stick what they sell on a pole for potential buyers to see. After that
we headed to Ho Chi Minh City, although the locals call it Saigon still. It was
a beautiful city and had a lively market in which I found a beautiful dress. The
old woman, seeing that I was interested, shouted out to me “yess yes, lady, we
have large”. Haha thanks old lady.
From here we took a night train to Nha Trang, a seaside
town. Here we just chilled at the beach, I done parasailing, and when landing,
although you are suppose to land at sea I guess they thought that I needed to
land on the beach. So I did, after a guy who was trying to grab me, caught my foot
and flipped me sideways and landed me on my hip. He then procedded to tread on
my other hip as he run after me. I suppose I cannot complain, he bowled my
groupmate through the beach umbrellas, not a single one was left standing when
she was finished, although she did ACTUALLY land on a sunbed! All this happened
after the guy who owned the boat told us that we where to fat to go together.
CHAMPION DAY!!!! It was a laugh really.
The next day I went on a boat trip to the many islands that
surround Nha Trang. I realised that I hadn’t put photos of this up on my
previous post to I will add it below. I went
to a few islands and it was a really beautiful day. We had a ladyman sing to
us, and karaoke from different countries. We also had a floating bar in the
ocean and you had to jump off the top of the boat to have free cocktails, unfortunately
my bikini chose this moment to fly up to my neck and I flashed everyone. No one
complained.
From Nha Trang we took a night train to Hoi An. Which is a
UNESCO town and quite beautiful, although not a beautiful as the moment I was
too fat to go parasailing with someone else :D. It is famous for its tailoring
and I got a pair of shoes, a dress and a blazer for job interviews there. They
fit beautifully, and cost me a total of £50 for all 3.
After Hoi An we went to Hue which was really boring and I had
absolutely nothing to do, seen some cute ducklings though! I guess that was the
highlight. After that, we headed to Halong Bay, it is such a beautiful and what
most of the pictures below are from. We took a boat ride out to the islands. We
had a seafood buffet on the way, me, feeling adventurous, tried the crab who’s
taste was nice but texture was not, and squid, which was actually really good,
it was chewy but in a good way. We went to a little fishing village that lives
in a floating village amongst the islands and I went kayaking to a small
lagoon. It was sooo beautiful, all you could hear was the birds of prey calling
and the bugs. The islands themselves where also beautiful and the weather
although starting crap, turned out beautiful.
After Halong Bay we had a bus to Hanoi, the capitol. To be
honest I didn’t think much of the capitol. I tried to go to the Ho Chi Minh
mausoleum, but our tour guide hadn’t told us that it was closed on Mondays so
we wasted a lot of taxi money there.
And thus ends my journey through Vietnam. To be honest
although it was pretty I didn’t feel that there was a great deal to do there unfortunately.
My favourite day had to be the day in Halong Bay, on the boat trip.
My final notes on Vietnam are:
·
Stick to the south, there is much more to do…. And
·
I need to loose weight by Vietnamese standards
hahaha.
